The Snowdodgers Challenge
Brr, it's getting chilly out isn't it? What better time of the year to be designing snow inspired hi-octane t-shirts! Fair & Bare has joined up with team Snowdodgers in order to help raise some much needed money for charity this winter. These crazy nutters will be rallying a £200 banger along a 4000 mile journey from the UK to Moldova, via the Arctic circle and they would like F&B to help out. We've been asked to source a design by team Snowdodgers, which will sold to raise money for this great cause!
We'll be selling the winning design ready for Christmas for £12.50 (inc UK p&p). At least £1.50 of every sale will go to charity, but if we have to print more than 50, it will be even more! The design will be the official team apparel and everyone taking part in the rally will be wearing them.
Organised by Pete, Gareth and Jon, three mates from University with a sense for adventure, the rally kicks off in April of 2009. 10 teams will be driving their £200 banger the for 21 days to cover the 4000 miles of land, sea and snow to the destination of Moldova. After successfully passing though 11 countries including Russia and the Ukraine, the teams will donate their cars to the charities and fly home. They're no strangers to this sort of thing either, having done the same thing across desert in 2006 raising £18,000 in the process for Tearfund and Macmillan.
As much as this is an adventure around some of the most remote and beautiful parts of Europe, the rally is also a great opportunity to raise some big money to help people less fortunate than ourselves. Moldova is THE poorest country in Europe, with a GNP of less than most African nations. This is pretty extreme, especially considering the significant wealth of its neighbouring countries.
Through the Snowdodgers Rally, the boys are aiming to raise 1 Million Moldovan Leu's, equivalent to £48,000 for two excellent Moldovan charities ('Children on the Edge' and 'Moldova Ministries'). Both are doing some incredible work with the poorest and most marginalised in Moldova.
Loads more information about their plans and progress can be found on their website: www.snowdodgers.co.uk
